Fortune Creek in part of Spallumcheen is to be diked by years end by provincial order and that's got the municipality in a knot.Mayor Janice Brown says they do not have legal access to much of the area, nor do they have the equipment or the money. She says "Got legal advice as to what our legal obligation is, and you know, financially it's un doable , it's, absolutely, we're not doing it and I don't know how we're not doing it but we just can't do it."" Brown says they'll be meeting with their MLA, George Abbott, on March Second. She adds the local diking district only has about 45 hundred dollars a year for such works.
