The Regional District of North Okanagan -
Greater Vernon Water (RDNO-GVW) in conjunction with Interior Health
Authority have issued a Do Not Drink Notice for customers in the 3700,
3800 and 3900 blocks of 32nd Avenue and 3806 35th Avenue. During a
recent water break, boiler water from an apartment building may have
entered the water distribution system. The boiler water contained a
chemical corrosion inhibitor that may be toxic in higher doses. The
distribution system is being repaired and flushed. Water samples for
the chemical have been taken. Until further notice, water intended for
the following uses should come from alternate sources:
• drinking
• washing fruits and vegetables
• making beverages or ice
• brushing teeth
• cooking
Customers will be informed when water quality returns to normal with a hand-delivered notice. If you have any questions, please contact RDNO-GVW at 250-550 -3700.
