Written by Glen Morrison 107.5 KISSFM Tuesday, 07 February   A Vernon man will spend at least one more year in a mental health facility.  38 year old Kenneth Barter was before the B.C. Review Board last week and his detention was extended at a facility in Port Coquitlam. Barter was found not criminally responsible of murder in the death and dismemberment of his friend, 32 year old Nathan Mayrhofer of Lumby, in August of 2010.  His remains were found in Barter's downtown Vernon apartment. The court was told Barter, a schizophrenic, was under the delusion his friend was a danger to his father.  He was found not fit to stand trial.
