| GVAC Functions |
- There is a new Tax Requisition for Solid Waste (Dumps). This user pay system will be augmented with a $400,000 Tax Requisition on assessed property (Both Land & Improvements) for all regional partners. Vernon's share based on the 2012 assessment rolls will be $212,406.
- Note that even though the Parks Tax requirement is going up $221,565 Vernon's share is actually going up a higher amount $288,527. Our partners in this function (Coldstream, Areas B & C) are going down by the amounts shown in Above table. This is caused by the assessments in Vernon going up at a greater rate than improvement assessments in our partners jurisdictions. (Likewise even though there is no increase in taxes for community theatre, Vernon will pay $21,701 more and our partners will share in this as a reduction to their taxes.
- $377,730 in increased taxes at NORD level = 377,730/243,000= 1.55% increase in taxes to the average homeowner in Vernon .
