It's getting more costly to haul away people's garbage and recycling.  Vernon councillor Bob Spiers says those services combined will cost an extra 12 dollars a year for homeowners. "And at the NORD level, there's going to be another ten dollars per households because they're now taxing for the sold waste reserves." Spiers says it's just another thing to go up, noting the average home will have to pay an extra 80 dollars for water this year.

There is a new RDNO Tax Requisition for Solid Waste (Dumps). This user pay system will be augmented with a $400,000 Tax Requisition on assessed property (Both Land & Improvements) for all regional partners. Vernon's share based on the 2012 assessment rolls will be $212,406. (This equates to about $10 year for the Vernon Taxpayer. (If passed at RDNO on Wednesday)
