Grow Op Nets Over 2,000 Plants

Written by Peter McIntyre  107.5 KISSFM Thursday, 01 March 2012 12:22 MarijuanaPolice say they have closed down a North Okanagan marijuana grow op that had been under investigation for some time.  Officers from the rural detail of the Vernon North Okanagan Detachment executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act at a Violet Road property in Enderby on Tuesday morning. Mountes entered the residence and two adult men were taken into custody. Both of the men, about 50 years of age, provided an address from Surrey. The grow operation was located in several locations on the property. Some was found in the garage, as well as a shed and in the basement of the house. The officers seized 2,334 marijuana plants in various stages of growth as well as other related equipment. RCMP Sgt Dave Evans commented, "This grow operation is just one more in the ongoing commitment to reducing the illegal production of marijuana in the North Okanagan."
