An abandoned 9-1-1 call led police to one of the larger marijuana grow op busts in Vernon in some time. RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk says officers went to the 8500 block of Greenway Road-- off Silver Star Road--- Tuesday night to investigate the call, but were not able to locate any residents. "One of our police service dog teams was called out to look for the residents as it is a rural property. A track was located going away from the home and the team followed it for a considerable amount of time when the tracks came back to a road. While looking for the owner on the property they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from an outbuilding." Molendyk says a search warrant was obtained and 6,781 plants were seized from a house and outbuilding. The residents of the property have not been located yet as the investigation continues.
