Know where the 'grows' were

Kelowna has been labeled a marijuana grow spot, after RCMP seized more plants in the city than any other detachment in the province over the last year. From April 2011 to March 2012 an RCMP database titled 'Marihuana Grow Operations' placed Kelowna at the top of the list with officers seizing 13,706 plants. When the Kelowna numbers are combined with West Kelowna and Lake Country the plant total climbs to 26,926 for the year. The RCMP created the database to list addressees of dismantled grow operations across the country. BC was the biggest grow producer in the nation. As grow operations are migrating away from big cities, like Abbotsford, and toward more rural areas like the Okanagan, area residents are curious to find out who exactly is living next door. (more)
