RCMP arrested several teens suspected of breaking into vehicles in the East Hill area this morning. A teen was seen running from a police vehicle around the Polson Mall around 4 am. Other officers were called in, and three males age 17 and 18 were found hiding. Police determined the three had broken into about eight vehicles in the area around VSS and stole anything of value. With the help of a police service dog, several stolen items were recovered along the route the suspects travelled. The three males -- two from Salmon Arm and one from Vernon-- have
been released to appear in court at a later date to face charges of
theft. RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk is using the case to remind people about securing their property."Lock your vehicles, do not keep valuables in plain view to entice would be thieves to target your vehicles."
