Three teenagers were taken to hospital after a crash on a remote North Okanagan road. RCMP say a vehicle went off the Coldstream Forest Service Road Sunday morning just before 8 around the 4km mark (Nobel Canyon area) towards Becker Lake. Police spokesman Gord Molendyk says a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder went off road and hit a tree. "It was being driven by an 18 year old from Vernon who was trapped in the vehicle. He had to be removed by the Lavington Fire Department." There were two passengers in the vehicle, one male and one female age 18 and 17 years. All three had been camping at Becker Lake the night before. Occupants were taken to Vernon hospital by ambulance, the driver sustained possible spinal and head injuries. Speed appeared to be a factor in the crash but there was no indication of alcohol. Molendyk says it appears the Pathfinder met an oncoming vehicle coming up the road, the driver swerved right and skidded off the road.
