Speaker Bill Barisoff just announced he won't seek re-election next year, meaning we have a new entry on our pension list. We estimate Bill's year 1 pension to be $90,992. If he lives to be 80 years old, he will collect $1.57 million. Here’s the latest tally of B.C. MLAs elected in 2009, and what we believe they will collect in pensions. Remember, pensions increase by the rate of inflation every year. A lifetime estimate assumes the individual lives to age 80. This does not include the 15 month severance package. We will post new blogs as this list of retiring MLAs grows.
