Coldstream fills senior staff spot

A former senior staff member at Lake Country won't have to go far following restructuring that cost him his job. Michael Reiley has been hired by the District of Coldstream for the position of director of development – a position he held in Lake Country until being laid off due to major restructuring. Reiley takes over the position that Craig Broderick held in Coldstream for more than a decade.  Broderick resigned from his position in May and his role has been filled by an interim director for the meantime. Reiley, who has 31 years of planning experience in B.C. and Alberta, officially begins in Coldstream on Sept. 10. "The planning and managerial skills that Michael Reiley has attained in similar sized municipalities will benefit Coldstream in addressing issues facing our community," said Michael Stamhuis, Coldstream's chief administrative officer. Reiley is a member of the Canadian Institue of Planners and prior to working in Lake Country he held planning department positions in Invermere and on the Palliser regional planning committee.
