The resignations of four prominent Liberals this week, could lead to a bigger role in the BC government for Vernon Monashee MLA Eric Foster. The first term politician feels ready for extra duty, if he's called on by Premier Christy Clark. He tells Kiss FM, "Whatever she wants me to do, I'll be happy to do it. I've been around a while, and like I say, if the Premier chooses to give me a spot, I would be honoured to take it." Foster says Clark is expected to announce a cabinet shuffle next week. Foster says he wasn't surprised his neighboring MLA George Abbott decided to call it quits. "I'm disappointed. I was holding out hope that George would run one more time, but George has put in a long shift and he's earn the right to retirement and time with his family." Foster will be seeking a second term, despite polls that show the Liberals far behind the New Democrats. "That's what people are saying and I guess we'll find that out next May. If we're in opposition, then we're in opposition. I think people in the province are going to see us as still the strong party that will protect the economy." Foster will officially be acclaimed as the Liberal candidate at a Vernon meeting September 11th.
