Vernon Jubilee Hospital has been approved for an update of its master site plan. MLA Eric Foster says with the opening of the Polson Tower last fall, and the plan for more beds in the new facility, they need to take a fresh look at how to guide future growth and direction at the facility for the next 15 years. The first update since 2006 will also look at the potential for new programs, how best to use the remaining space at the site and parking requirements. Norm Embree from Interior Health says the plan will look at needs to 2028, and make sure the facility has the right programs and services to meet population increases. The process will start with a request for proposals from consultants, to develop the site plan, with a firm chosen by late September, and the plan completed in December.
