| Firefighter Chris Kulak pays tribute to 9-11 victims |
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)

9-11 Remembered in Vernon
Written by Peter McIntyre Tuesday, 11 September 2012 12:24
The 11th anniversary of 9-11 was remembered at an event at the Vernon fire station this morning. About 35 people, mostly firefighters, police and ambulance personnel took part in the short service which was followed by the ringing of a bell, and a moment of silence to remember the victims. Almost 3,000 people died in the four terrorist attacks in the U-S September 11, 2001 including 411 emergency workers. Vernon firefighter and vice president of the firefighters union Doug Imrich says it's important to pay tribute. "I think to all firefighters across North America, it's a day to remember what we do and what sacrifices other firefighters have made, and September 11th is especially important because of the number of emergency responders we lost that day. It's brings home the realities of the job." Chaplain David MacBain was the main speaker during the service. He says, "The message today was it's a time of remembrance, a time to remember the importance of responding to emergencies in our community, reminding the responders they are loved and appreciated by our community, and the importance of our spritual well- being as well as our physical well being." Special mention was made to Dan Bodkin, a volunteer fireman in Enderby who lost his life while on duty last December.
