District of Summerland Hires New CAO
The District of Summerland has hired a new Chief Administrative Officer. Tom Day, a local government professional with more than 20 years of experience will fill the vacated seat on October 15th. Day, who held a similar position in Merritt, Sooke and Esquimalt holds a degree in Geography and Political Science as well as a Dipolma in Local Government Administration. "Council was looking for a strong leader with proven skills in municipal management", says Summerland Mayor Janice Perrino. Day was appointed to the position at the Summerland regular council meeting on Monday
