Enderby is rallying behind an agency that helps the less fortunate. The city will notify the Regional District of North
Okanagan that it will financially contribute towards a $9,200 grant for
Vernon’s Upper Room Mission. “They do a lot of good work,” said Coun. Tundra Baird. The Upper Room Mission wants the fee waived for a water
main upgrade to its facility, which provides meals and programs to
people in need. Individual jurisdictions are being asked to provide funds because RDNO does not have the ability to provide grants. If all jurisdictions participate, Enderby’s portion could be about $221. Baird expects some Enderby residents may use the mission. “We don’t have the core social services Vernon has,” she said.
