DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)

Bid For Senior Games Tied To Track Vote
Written by Peter McIntyre Thursday, 07 March 2013 12:15
Greater Vernon could be making a bid to host the BC Senior Games in 2016, but only if a new sports venue gets the go ahead. Greater Vernon Advisory Committee directors are recommending the regional board support a bid, as long as there's support from community groups, and if the new 7.5 million dollar track and field facility next to Okanagan College is approved in the April 6 referendum. The event would bring up to 4,000 participants in 29 sports to the area for four days in the late summer. All the entrants are 55 and older. The economic spin-off from the 2009 event in Richmond was two million dollars. The BC Seniors Games Society assists the host community and volunteers with event management services through an agreement with the BC Games Society, and provides $85,000 from the BC government, plus a portion of the participant registration fees.
