Vernon's mayor doesn't think council will drag-out decisions related to a core service review. The $80,000 study by KPMG, which started last fall, has been looking into city spending and services, with recommendations expected to be given to council soon. Mayor Rob Sawatzky says council will likely need a few weeks to debate their course of action. "Some of the decisions may be big and wide ranging, but even if council does that, I would anticipate by the end of of April, the decisions related to the core services review, will have been made." Sawatzky says some of the issues related to land, legal and labour matters may be discussed in-camera, but all the decisions will be made public.
