Kelowna's top cop calling it quits

Global Okanagan : Wednesday, March 20, 2013 12:00 AM
Kelowna RCMP superintendent Bill McKinnon has announced his imminent retirement.  McKinnon has been Kelowna's top cop for almost a decade. While the official details of his retirement have not been made public, Global Okanagan has learned he announced his retirement at the detachment Wednesday.  His last day is March 28.  McKinnon has lead the Kelowna RCMP through several difficult episodes during his career, most notably when a constable was caught on tape kicking a Kelowna man in the head. And most recently, when his daughter was sent to jail after being arrested and pled guilty for being involved in a dial a dope investigation.
