Quarterly Water Rate changes at Different consumption levels. |
The water rates that were required to ensure a collection of approx. $17 million for the Water Utility in 2013 were passed 6-2 at the GVAC Committee table and will probably be part of the package to be passed at the next RDNO Meeting. Unless changed at this meeting these are the water rates which will come into effect April 1, 2013.
Highlighted Changes in the Water Rates:(quarterly) RESIDENTIAL (see table for effects on residential customers at various levels of consumption.)
- Base Residential water rates will increase from $78.12 to $80.50 (3.04%)
- Consumption Rates -
- Tier A - 0-10 m3 from 0 cents to 50 cents. ($5 increase at 10m3 usage level)
- Tier B - 11-20m3 from 0 cents to 90 cents.($9 increase at 20m3 usage level)
- Tier C- 21-40m3 from 98 cents to $1 (2.04% increase -2 cents/m3)
- Tier D- 41-80m3 from $1.20 to $1.25 (4.16% increase -5 cents/m3)
- Tier E- over 80m3 from $1.74 cents to $1.80 (3.44% increase -6 cents/m3
Highlighted Changes in the Water Rates:(quarterly) COMMERCIAL
- Base Commercial water rates will increase from $78.12 to $80.50 (3.04%)
- Consumption Commercial will increase from $1.09 to $1.15 /m3 (5.5%)
- There are no Commercial Step rates for consumption. All water will be charged at $1.15/m3
- Minimum Fee in lieu of consumption (9 levels) increased by 3%.
- Allocation fee increased from $ 59.50 per Hectare to $61.25 (2.94%)
- Agricultural Over Consumption Fees rates increased across the board. (Tier A to Tier E)
Highlighted Changes in the Water Rates:(quarterly) Non Domestic-Non-Potable Consumption rate : (Only 6 local customers that receive this rate. )
- Increased from 33 cents/m3 to 50 cents/me (51.5%)

You have done a Yeoman's job outlining the new Water Rates, unfortunately the general public will not have the benefit of all your work.
They will when they get their bills in July.
