Students from around the Okanagan are learning things like how to run a polygraph test, and defending themselves from attacks, this week in Vernon. It's part of the 14th annual RCMP Youth Academy at the Army Camp that gives kids an idea about careers in police work. RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says about 40 students are in the 6 day course, with each day starting with a 6 am run. "The graduation ceremony takes place on May 4th, Saturday." The course is named after former Vernon Constable Jean Minguy who was instrumental in starting the program. Minguy died while on duty in Okanagan Lake in 2005.
