Vernon gas station robbed at knife-point

By Staff Writer - Vernon Morning Star Updated: April 05, 2013 7:08 AM Vernon RCMP are seeking the public's assistance after a gas station was robbed at knife-point Thursday.  A clerk was working at the Super-Save on 27th Street at 8:43 p.m. wen he noticed someone waiting outside. Once the only other customer left the store, the male entered. "He produced a knife that was about seven-inches long," said Gord Molendyk, RCMP spokesperson. The suspect demanded cash and once he got what he wanted, he left the store, walked northbound and then went westbound. The suspect is a Caucasian described as 26-years-old, six-feet-tall and skinny. "He was wearing sunglasses, a glove, a red hat with a black brim, a red bandanna over his mouth and a light-coloured hoody underneath a black jacket," said Mollendyk. He appears to have facial stubble and he may have sideburns. Anyone with any information on any of the robberies is asked to call the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
