John Cummins1Tory leader John Cummins made a stop in Vernon today to announce a plan to cut red tape for North Okanagan livestock producers. He says a tory government  would immediately issue up to 12 hundred class C licences for farm gate sales, allowing residents to purchase poultry and meat from local producers. He says "It's time to make life easier, not harder for small business, and we can't treat livestock producers like criminals."  Cummins doesn't have safety concerns about allowing more farm gate sales.  The B.C. Agriculture ministry recently announced it would issue 5 class C licences in a pilot project producers say isn't enough
