Outreach supervisor Bev Henke says some heroin and oxycodone being sold on the streets actually contains fentanyl, which is said to be 100 times more potent than morphine. "This substance increases your chances of a fatal overdose. Street level dealers may be unaware, or are potentially mis-representing the product to consumers," she tells Kiss FM. Henke says all of the overdoses were 'serious', where the person basically dies and is brought back, but none have been fatal. She says there's no way to tell if the heroin or oxycodone has fentanyl added. "Anyone using opiates should be advised of the danger of the substance being sold as heroin or oxycodone."
