Update:

Mounties now know more about the dead person found in Vernon's Polson Park Monday.
An autopsy has shown that foul play was not a factor in the man's death and the case has been turned over to the coroner's service to investigate.
Officials are still working on finding out the man's identity.
The body was spotted by a passer-by in a forested area on near the creek.
It's not known how long the body had been there, but it could have been as long as a month.

RCMP say a body found in Polson Park had been deceased for an undetermined amount of time. The body was spotted by a park user Monday afternoon in a forested area near Vernon Creek on the east side of the park. RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says an autopsy today will help determine the age, sex and a potential cause of death of the person. He says the body had been there likely a few days or weeks. "It's hard to put a date on it but it could be be as much as a month or more I suppose," he tells Kiss FM. Molendyk says the body was removed from the park Monday night, and investigators are following up on reports of missing people. That part of the park will remain closed until the autopsy is completed but the rest of the park is open to the public.
