The height of new parking meters is creating challenges for some residents. The City of Vernon is currently experimenting with
credit card capable meters in the 3000 to 3200 blocks of 30th Avenue.
However, the meters add height to the existing structures. “Please bear with us as we move forward with making a
decision regarding which meters will eventually be purchased,” said
Kevin Koral, bylaw enforcement officer. Koral says the city will reduce the height of the posts
to a more appropriate level as it moves forward with a specific style
of meter in October. “The public is encouraged to try the new style parking
meters with a credit card, and make comments with regards to their
experience at
