New Duties Not Taken As Snub

A Vernon councillor doesn't see her recent change in committee duties as a demotion. After the mayor's latest appointments, Juliette Cunningham will move to the Greater Vernon Advisory Committee after sitting on the Regional District of North Okanagan board the last two years. "I would have liked to have stayed at the regional district, but I understand the mayor's position. There was interest from councillor (Catherine) Lord wanting to go there, so I have not sat at GVAC and I'm actually looking forward to it," Cunningham tells Kiss FM. Cunningham says the parks, rec, arts and water advisory committee has big issues to deal with in 2014 including water, and a planned arts and culture referendum next spring.
