Tourist Centre Working Out

Vernon's new tourist centre's proving it's worth according to manager Teresa Durning Harker. She says "Our traffic numbers are pretty much on par so far this month with last year's numbers, so as long as we aren't seeing a decline, which would be an indicator that we need to change some signage or do things differently, we're happy." Durning Harker says initial problems with sign placement were quickly worked out and no one's mentioned any problem in finding or getting to the 39th Avenue site. And with a long weekend coming she says their checks show some motel-hotel space still available but campgrounds are pretty much booked. The centre's officially open 9 to 6.
