Assent Voting for the Water Referendum - Are you eligible to vote?? Check the Map.

The following Assent Voting opportunity will occur in conjunction with the General Local Election:

Greater Vernon Water Borrowing Referendum
The Province of BC requires public approval of long-term borrowing for water system upgrades. On November 15, 2014, GVW will conduct a borrowing referendum.

Are you in favour of the Regional District of North Okanagan adopting Bylaw No. 2629, being "Greater Vernon Water 2012 Master Water Plan Phase 1 Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 2629, 2014" which authorizes the Regional District of North Okanagan to borrow an amount not to exceed SEVENTY MILLION DOLLARS ($70,000,000.00) for the purpose of paying the costs to plan, design and construct the Phase 1 projects of the of 2012 Greater Vernon Water Master Water Plan.

This Referendum applies to electors within the Greater Vernon Water service area.

What if I live on a First Nation reserve such as Priest Valley Indian Reserve #6 (IR #6)?
IR #6 is located within the Regional District of the North Okanagan. Residents living on First Nations land are eligible to vote in the Regional District Elections for Electoral Area Director “B”.  Note that IR 6 residents are not eligible to vote in the Assent Voting for the Greater Vernon Water Referendum as IR#6 is not within the Greater Vernon Water Local Service Area.
