RCMP honours fallen Moncton Constables in National Memorial Service

The Regina RCMP Depot Devision held its National Memorial Service at the RCMP Academy on Sunday morning.  The ceremony honoured members, special constables and auxiliary constables who lost their lives in the line of duty. This year, three names were inscribed on the Cenotaph, the Honour Roll and the Memorial Wall Plaques, bringing the total number of fallen members to 234 since the creation of the North-West Mounted Police in 1873. The names were those of Constable Fabrice Georges Gevaudan, Constable Douglas James Larche, and Constable Dave Joseph Ross, who lost their lives in the line of duty in June in Moncton. The RCMP National Memorial Service is an annual event held the second Sunday of September and was attended by family and friends of the fallen members. They were joined by veterans, cadets and members from across the country. Among those in attendance was Her Honour the Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, and His Worship George LeBlanc, Mayor of the City of Moncton, New Brunswick.
