Nominations close for the civic elections Friday at 4 pm. Coldstream has seven running for the six councillor positions with the addition of incumbent Richard Enns. Jim Garlick remains unchallenged for mayor.

There's 12 running for the six councillor spots in Vernon, with dentist Shawn Lee and former BC Conservative candidate Scott Anderson the latest, and still four for mayor. Akbal Mund is apparently waiting until the final day to file his papers. He announced he would run last month.

In Spallumcheen, Joe Van Tienhoven and Todd York are the fourth and fifth candidates for councillor, all of them incumbents, while three are running for mayor, Janice Brown (incumbent), Dave Brew and Will Hansma.

Enderby has two for mayor: Howie Cyr and Greg McCune and six for council.

Chris Pieper could win another term by acclamation in Armstrong, unopposed at this point, with 12 for council.

In the RDNO's Area D rural Lumby, former Green Party candidate Huguette Allen is challenging incumbent Rick Fairbairn.
