There will be a new face at the head of council in Vernon after all the ballots are counted Nov 15. Mayor Rob Sawatzky decided against seeking another term. Five names will be on the ballot to replace Sawatzky Nov 15. Included in that list are current councillor, Mary-Jo O'Keefe, former councillor, Klaus Tribes, former Sparwood councillor, Jamie Morrow, businessman and volunteer, Akbal Mund and economist Victor Cumming.
