UPDATE: Missing Vernon girls found

UPDATE: 8:30 p.m. Nov. 30
Saylor Nicole Martian and Tina Kontos have been located in Manitoba. According to the Vernon RCMP, the two 15-year-olds were found in Headingley, Manitoba where they were apprehended by police. One of the girls reportedly made contact with her parents letting them know where they were. Arrangements are being made to bring the girls back to Vernon. “The Vernon RCMP would like to thank the media and concerned friends and family who have been posting that the girls were missing, asking for assistance in locating them so we could return them home safely,” RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk said.

VERNON – The hunt is one for a pair of Vernon teenagers who may have runaway from home together. RCMP say received a report Friday night that Saylor Martian and her friend Tina Kontos, both 15, were missing. “There have been reports the two were headed to the either the Lower Mainland or to Alberta,” Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says in a media release. “The girls’ parents nor the police have not been able to confirm either of these reports.” Saylor Nicole Martian is described as 5’4” tall with a slim build, about 110 lbs with long, light brown hair. Martian was last seen wearing dark rimmed glasses and black yoga plants. Tina Kontos is described as 5’4” tall with a slim build, about 108 lbs with brown eyes and long, light brown hair with a blond streak on the right side. She may be wearing purplish/brown wire rimmed glasses, a dark purple jacket and black boots or brown shoes. “The Vernon RCMP are asking your help to find these two missing girls,” Molendyk says. “Anyone who may have seen them or have any information as to where these two girls have gone are is asked to call the nearest police department.”

Public Help Needed To Find Missing Teens

Vernon RCMP are asking for public help to find two missing 15 year old girls from Vernon. On November 28th at about 8:35 PM the Vernon RCMP received a report from a concerned parent that her daughter Saylor Martian and her friend Tina Kontos had been together and she has not heard from them. "The mom was concerned that the two girls might have run way together," says Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk. Their parents, Blaine & Trish Martian and Tina & Steve Kontos, issued a news release, also seeking the public's help. "We just want them to know that we love them so very much and are so worried about them," said Trish. "So many family and friends are out their searching for them and we are all praying for their safe return. Please girls, just call someone and let us know where you are. Someone out there must have seen them -- please help us find them." While both girls have a back pack with them, neither is prepared for cold temperatures. Saylor Nicole Martian is described as 15 years old she is 5'4" or 162 cm tall she is slim, and weighs 110 lbs or 50 kgs, she has light brown long hair, wearing dark rimmed glasses and last seen wearing black Yoga pants. Tina Kontos is described as 15 year old she is 5'8" or 172 cm tall and weighs, 108 lbs or49 kgs, she has brown eyes, light brown long hair to waist with blond streak on right side, she is wearing purplish/brown wire glasses, dark purple jacket, black boots or brown shoes.
