The annual financial report for the Regional District North Okanagan was presented Wednesday night. RDNO managed to balance administrative costs with service levels in 2015 and only saw a 2% increase in staff remuneration....there was no increase in politicians pay. Chair Rick Fairbairn says some administration salaries appear high but you have to pay to get qualified people with both regional and municipal government experience. "To find these people, the training level that's required, it's very difficult. The reality is we're at a level that the market demands and we have to pay. The top staff salary was Chief Administrative Officer David Sewell at just under 167-thousand dollars followed by Leah Mellott, General manager EA Services at $142,845 and Engineering General Manager Dale McTaggart at $136,690. Rick Fairbairn received the highest remuneration for politicians with just over $42,000 with $14,000 for expenses. Electoral area C director Mike MacNabb and area B's Bob Fleming were next highest at $24,000.
