Vernon Gateway Signs Delayed Again !!

Once again the issue of new welcoming signs for Vernon is delayed. City Council deferred the matter today because of a cost issue. Mayor Akbal Mund says the quote from the sign company was about four times what it was expected. "Originally we thoought it was going to cost 50 thousand dollars,but the quotes we were getting back was about 200 thousand dollars and obviously that's probably not what we want so we said let's defer it for a bit." The Mayor says the city will take a look at it again in September or October. New Requests for Proposals will be issued and a new completion date for the three gateway signs will be determined through that process.
