True Leaf heads to Europe

By Castanet Staff - Aug 2, 2016 / 5:56 pm
A North Okanagan medical marijuana company has a foothold in Europe. True Leaf Pet Europe, a subsidiary of True Leaf Medicine International, will be based in Luxembourg, according to a press release. The move allows the Lumby firm to “work in close proximity to European clients and markets,” said Darcy Bomford, president and CEO of True Leaf. “The subsidiary will work with European marketing partner Pet Horizons to build distribution networks and develop sales and distribution performance.” Bomford said the deal will also allow True Leaf to conduct business in European currency. The company has a line of hemp-focused pet chews and supplements marketed through natural pet health and veterinary channels in Canada and the U.S. It has also filed an application under Health Canada’s marijuana for medicinal purposes regulations to become a Canadian licensed producer.
