Starting this week, people will be able to take their dogs for a walk in Polson Park, providing they are on a leash. It’s the start of a two year pilot aimed at getting more people using the park, and to increase activity. The City will be adding five bag dispensers and new signage this week, and people will be able to dispose of their doggie bags in one of the 18 garbage bins in the park, which will be emptied daily in the summer and twice a week in the winter. “The City would like to encourage dog owners to use the new bag dispensers installed throughout the park to clean up after their dog,” says a City media release. Residents will be able to comment on the trial starting later this month at Engage Vernon (www.engagevernon.ca). Over the next two years, the City will monitor the comments and will use that feedback to determine the future of the program at the end of the trial in 2019,” says the release.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
