Vernon RCMP have a 46 year-old man in custody in connection with a series of grass fires Saturday. RCMP responded to three separate grass fires, one near Vernon Auto Towing on 34th St, one near London Drugs on 32nd St and the other near Sunshine Auto Graphics on 31st St. Members of the Vernon Fire Department detained a man leaving the scene the scene of one of the fires. The suspect faces charges of mischief. He name will not be released until he has been charged and appears in court. All three fires were contained to grass and brush areas.
