City Of Kelowna 20 year servicing plan 2005-2020
CITY OF KELOWNA UPDATED 20 YEAR SERVICING PLAN AND FINANCING STRATEGY Effective Jan 1, 2006.
Don Quixote Note:* City Councillors in Kelowna were told Monday that the servicing plan carries a total cost of $753 million up from the $607 million in the present Plan. This translates into a 30% potential rise for development cost charges (DCC's). A single family residential property would see fee increases to $16,300 from $12,331.
The largest components of the $753 million required over the next 20 years are:
Roads $490 million
Parks $103 million
Upgrade of wastewater Plant $80 million Water Distribution System $46 million.
About 60% of the total required ($753 million )comes from DCC's, 20% from direct taxation and 20% from utility charges and provincial grants.
*Most of these figures come from a great article in the Daily Courier on Nov.7 by Ron Seymour on Page A3. http://www.kelownadailycourier.ca/ (article not yet web-posted)
