Allow slots or risk losing cash source?

Abbotsford Coun. Dave Loewen was one of three city councillors who spoke out against a proposal to build a new Community Gaming Centre in the existing bingo hall on Peardonville Road. If it is approved, slot machines will be installed in the facility. If it is turned down, the bingo hall operators argue their facility will close and 79 local community groups will lose thousands of dollars.

Don Quixote Note: If you read the full article you will see that the old argument that the charities will suffer a financial loss by losing their grants from BCLC if the bingo hall fails has once again been used as a form of blackmail to get a community to accept slots in a bingo hall and convert it to a community gaming centre.
