Over the weekend a settlement was reached in a libel suit against Okanagan-Shuswap M.P. Colin Mayes. he suit was filed last December by Greg Husband, who was running for Mayor of Salmon Arm. 
It was in response to a letter that Mayes had distributed and was published in the Lakeshore News, who's owner was also named in the suit. Details have not been released. Late last week the MP told us he's forging ahead now that he's been given the assurance of the National Party Board that he's the candidate they want to represent the party in the riding in the next Federal Election.The National Board looked into it a letter sent by 33 local party members regarding the suit, and cleared him of any conflict of interest charges.
