Corrections officials have launched an investigation into allegations that former Vernon Mayor Sean Harvey has breached the terms of his conditional release. Harvey is serving a one-year conditional sentence at home after pleading guilty to defrauding Vernon taxpayers by abusing a city credit card. He resides in Salmon Arm and can't leave the house unless for specific reasons and shopping for baby clothes might not fall into that category.

According to CHBC News, Harvey was seen shopping at a Kelowna baby wear store December 29. When questioned by reporter Kent Molgat, Harvey denied that he was at the shop, but the assistant manager says he was. Karen Serhan of T.J.'s The Kiddie Store says Harvey was in her store for about half-an-hour that day, but didn't buy anything. BC Corrections is now trying to determine if Harvey breached the conditions of his release and will turn over its findings to Crown Counsel.
