People in the Upper Shuswap are upset about plans for a sewage effluent outfall pipe where Sugar Lake empties into the Shuswap River. The proposal is part of a plan to redevelop and expand the Kokanee Lodge Resort. The sewage is to be treated on site and dumped into the lake. The proposal has many area residents signing petitions of opposition.
