Smart Growth BC agrees to lead Vernon's OCP Review

RECEIVED VIA E-MAIL:

At the Affordable Housing Forum on January 18, Juliette Cunningham announced that the lead consultant for the OCP Review is Smart Growth Advisory Services, achieved through the efforts of Councillors Baumbrough and Cunningham. This is good news for planning in all the Districts of the North Okanagan.

Smart Growth Advisory Services is a newly-launched project of Smart Growth BC. This mission-based consulting service targets areas of smart growth planning, research, visioning, First Nations' planning, and public consultation that our programs have not been able to reach in the past. Smart Growth Advisory Services aims to fill the gap between our CAP and CAP+ programs and Smart Growth on the Ground.

Tom Lancaster, the manager of the new advisory service is an urban planner specializing in smart growth strategies for public consultation, visioning, and land use planning, as well as First Nations' community planning, research and facilitation.
