A young Vernon girl is back home with her mother. Megan Bazell, 15, was reported missing earlier this week after she disappeared from home Saturday, January 6. Her disappearance prompted her mother and RCMP to launch an extensive search on the streets and through the media. Vernon RCMP say Bazell was located Wednesday night at a residence on Kelowna's Westside where she was staying with a friend. Police say they managed to track Bazell down through her cell phone. "The community certainly rallied around the parents who had initiated an email campaign and had involved the media. Thanks to the community and the media for their assistance in this investigation," says Corporal Henry Proce. No charges are being contemplated.

Vernon RCMP have located a missing 15 year old girl. Megan Bazell had been missing for 4 days. Bazell was found safe and sound early Thursday morning at her boyfriend's house. The 19 year old man had previously denied seeing her when questioned by police. Her family launched a frantic search for the girl that included a email campaign and posters up and down the valley. Police had suspected Bazell was a runaway but the family said the behaviour was out of character for their daughter.
