Four North Okanagan projects have got the go ahead thanks to federal gas tax money. NORD chairman Jerry Oglow says the board has approved 2.5 million dollars in 'regionally significant'projects. He says it includes 1 million dollars for a regional composting facility,'Right now we're probably looking at the Coldstream area specifically somewhere near the Coldstream Ranch as a possibility.' The other projects are a half million dollars to improve the receiving area at the Greater Vernonlandfill, along with a regional growth management strategy, and a regional transportation plan. Oglow says the projects will proceed once the paperwork is done.
