A proposal to give NORD directors pay hikes, may not get far at today's monthly meeting. Vernon directors will be asking the regional board to delay the matter to allow for more discussion. Among the more contentious issues would see municipal directors see their base pay rise from15-hundred dollars, to six thousand annually. NORD chairman Jerry Oglow supports some sort of increase. He says board members have to invest far more time in their duties, than they did five years ago. 'From my perspective, as chair of the board, I have seen a significant increase in workload responsibility for all directors.' If the increases are approved, it would add up to an extra 35-thousand dollars a year to compensate the board and committee members.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
