Vernon Mounties have established a downtown 'red zone' after two successful undercover operations against street level drug dealers and users. RCMP say in total 27 people are facing drug related charges after two separate operations...one in December and one in February. The projects were in response to mounting concern from busineses over drug use, trafficking, prostitution, and theft surrounding Cenotaph Park. Corporal Henry Proce says officers of the Vernon Detachment started the round-up Wednesday morning of suspects charged in the operations...three of them who were charged in both projects.
