Twenty-Four Hour Clinics?

by Wayne Moore - Story: 27321March 04, 2007 Castanet

After a month of holding forums around the province, some common themes are emerging from BC's Conversation on Health. The idea of 24-hour health clinics next to emergency rooms was suggested at the latest all-day session held Saturday in Chilliwack. The same idea came out of sessions in Kamloops, Surrey and Nanaimo. According to independent health researcher Colleen Fuller, it's a sign that British Columbians are looking for more options. She says other provinces have a much stronger network of community-based multi-disciplinary primary health care, adding that BC needs to really focus on investing in that level of health care.
